Ghana Beige Shea Butter (2 LB)

Our Shea Butter is sourced from certified organic suppliers in Ghana as part of fair trade practices. It is unrefined and retains its natural nutty scent, as it is in its virgin state. Made from the pits of the African Shea tree, the color of the Shea Butter can vary from light beige/gray to deeper tones of beige. It is handcrafted in the villages of Ghana and may contain tiny pieces of the hull, which disintegrate when used or melted. This is common as Shea is a nut and nuts have hulls.

Our Shea Butter is soft, creamy, and rich, melting on the skin and gentle to use. It is excellent in its natural state and can also be used in personal care products such as lotions, creams, and lip balm. When making soap, Shea butter’s high unsaponifiables content makes it suitable for use as a super fatting material, typically comprising 2 to 5% of total fats and oils in the formula.

The INCI for our Shea Butter is Butyrospermum Parkii Fruit.

Natural Ghana Shea Butter is naturally soft, though exceptions may occur in the winter months or extremely cold areas where it is shipped. However, once allowed to sit at room temperature for 24 hours, it will soften again. Softness is a natural quality of our pure Ghana Shea Butter.
