Organic Calendula and Chamomile Infused Golden Jojoba Oil - Moisturizing (1.7fl oz)

We slowly infuse our organically-grown deep orange Calendula officinalis flower heads (seeds & petals) mixed with organic German Chamomile flowers into organic cold-pressed golden jojoba oil for a period of 6 weeks at a controlled temperature to ensure optimum extraction. Our plant oils are produced in small batches using responsibly sourced and organic ingredients. This is not your typical essential oil, as Calendula flowers have low volatile compounds (~0.2%) and therefore have low distillation rates. To capture all the benefits of these plants, we slowly extract the entire flower head (seeds & petals) into an oil that maximizes their beneficial properties.

Calendula is a versatile plant known for its benefits for dry and damaged skin. Our oil can be used on its own, mixed into massage blends with other oils, or used to enrich skincare products such as salves, creams, and masks. To preserve the beneficial properties of our Calendula & Chamomile oil, we package it in light-resistant, amber glass bottles to prevent degradation from light. Our oil is made at a botanical extract ratio of 1:5, meaning 1-part flowers to 5-parts jojoba oil, resulting in 17% botanicals in each bottle. We do not include any fragrance or extracts in our oils, making them suitable for delicate baby skin as well as sensitive skin.

Calendula flowers are rich in antioxidants, while Calendula seeds are high in resins. The main constituent in Chamomile, bisabolol, is noted in scientific literature as a hyaluronic acid stimulator. We grind the Calendula and Chamomile flower heads to an optimal size, ensuring maximum transfer of plant bioactives into the jojoba oil.

Jojoba oil, also known as "liquid wax," is rich in omega-9 waxy fatty acids that closely resemble the natural oil in human skin. As a result, it can penetrate deep into the skin unlike any other natural oil, without leaving an oily feeling or residue.
